Small Business News | Business groups unhappy with retirement proposals

Government plans to remove the default retirement age (DRA) have received mixed reactions from small business groups. Plans to increase the state pension age from 65 to 66 and the phasing out of the DRA from April 2011 were among George Osborne’s Budget announcements. The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) agrees that the DRA is too low at present but removing it will cause problems for employers.
